In My Mailbox (3)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. Each weekend I'll post about any new books I've gotten either in my mailbox or from a store or library that week. If I haven't gotten any new books, I'll wait until I do.

This week is a pretty big haul for me, mostly down to the fact I have an incredible family who have realised book bribery is a pretty effective way to get me to do anything!

My sister is awesome! She's moving house this week AND starting university AND turning 21 so she asked me to babysit. In exchange she got me this great pair of books. I'm not usually a hardcover girl, but they had a deal in WH Smiths that if you brought Sweetly, you got Sisters Red for free. So now I have two gorgeous hardcovers just waiting to be read :)

Ah, the library, how I adore thee. Okay, well honestly I have more of a love/hate relationship with my local library but this week I'm edging more towards love as I managed to grab a copy of Pale Demon. It's the latest in the Hollows series which was one of my first ever urban fantasy series. I'm a few books behind so I'm hoping to read the whole series through from the beginning.

My Mum is also being particularly awesome this week. I'm off to the London Cassandra Clare signing this month and I was trying to think of a way to get a copy of City of Fallen Angels without breaking my no buying books resolution. Turns out the answer is to bribe my Mum with copious amounts of tea and she'll get it for me :)

The Mum awesomeness continues here. After coming to investigate the shrieks of 'nooooooo' coming from the lounge, she found out the library wouldn't let me renew Invincible. As it's part of my Fall into Reading list she brought me a copy!

  1. Great haul! I liked City of Fallen Angles. Not as much as the first 3 but still a good read. Hope you like it too.
