Bout of Books: Goals (#boutofbooks)

The Bout of Books Read-a-Thon is about to get started and I've finally decided what my goals for this week will be. First of all I'll be updating each day as I like looking back over my updates at the end of the read-a-thon and seeing what I've done.

Beyond that I'm hoping to dedicate 2 hours each day this week to reading. I was going to state a number of days, but given the changeable nature of my ME I feel committing to a smaller consistent level will be easier to achieve.

I'm keeping my booklist pretty small to start with so I don't overwhelm myself, and I can always add books to my goals in my daily updates. I definitely want to read more Vampire Academy books (I read and loved the first ages ago) so I'm starting with books 1-4 :)

I'm also hoping to take part in the twitter chats on Monday (1pm CST/7pm GMT) and Saturday (10am CST/1pm GMT), although not the chat on Wednesday as that works out as the early hours of Thursday for me. I'm also hoping to take part in as many challenges as possible, as well as visit as many other blogs as I can and leave comments :)

    1. I read the first a few years ago and never picked up the rest. Now I have all of them, plus the two Bloodlines waiting to be read so I'm playing catch up :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

    2. With the series, this always happens. I have been meaning to read a few of the sequels but can't manage to get to them. Hope you finish both series soon.

    3. I know exactly what you mean. It's so easy to fall behind with series :(

  3. Honestly, I can't believe that I haven't picked up Vampire Academy yet. I actually may have to add that to my TBR list for the readathon! It seems like a fast and fun read, which is always great for a readathon. =)

Anyways, good luck with your goals! I think 2 hours per day is a fabulous goal, which I may have to adopt for myself. ;) I hope to see your updates! <3

  4. I've read the first Vampire Academy book. Didn't love it, but I'm super picky about vampire novels. Two hours a day seems like a pretty manageable goal. I couldn't set a time for myself because I hate feeling overly committed to anything. Good luck!

    1. Fair enough. Not every book suits every reader. I'm super picky with zombie books so I totally understand :)

Thanks for stopping by and good luck to you too!

    1. It might be worth giving them a try, but maybe try borrowing the first? That way you can see what you think without investing too much :)

Thanks for stopping by Kelsey :)

  8. I really want to read the Vampire Academy series, I have the first book on my bookshelf, I just need to read it and get the rest! Two hours a day is a great goal to set, especially as it doesn't seem as intimidating as reading 'X amount of pages a day' can do. Good luck with your goals! :)
