Top Ten Tuesdays (2)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the Broke and the Bookish where a new top ten list is posted each week. This week is: Top Ten Books I Feel As Though Everyone Has Read But Me.

1. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning
I'm always seeing people chat about this book on Goodreads and it's been recommended to me a few times. I'm still not sure if I want to read it, although it seems I'm one of the few who hasn't, as it seems a little too dark for my tastes.

2. Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh
Possibly a paranoid pick, but I've recently read all of the Psy-Changeling books up to this one...and I'm not going to get it before Christmas :( So many people are posting reviews and quotes and I'm trying to hide from them so I don't break my resolution.

3. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
Another heavily recommended book, and this time I know it's been read - mostly because since I've had it on loan from the library it has been pinched and read by my Mum, who not only loved it but tracked down the facebook pages of the characters!

4. 16 Lighthouse Road by Debbie Macomber
I love this author and I'm constantly asked why I haven't read her Cedar Cove series. There really isn't a reason - it's just a matter of timing. I'm hoping to get to them soon though.

5. My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent
I remember hearing about this being published in the US and it took forever for it to be published in the UK. It's gotten to the point where I still haven't read it, and everyone else seems to be on the 5th book!

6. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Since I joined Goodreads I've seen this book recommended and talked about almost constantly, and now knitting patterns are appearing. Yep - a knitting pattern...for a book. It's not the first time I've seen such a thing, but it definitely shows how popular the book is.

7.  Glass Houses by Rachel Caine
Everyone seems to have read the Morganville Vampires series, and it's constantly brought up in reference to other YA paranormal books. It seems insanely read, although some people love it and others hate it.

8. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
It seems like almost everyone has read this, and again it has mixed reviews. It has a beautiful cover (pretty much why I have a copy) and that alone justifies the attention it garners, at least for me.

9. Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian
This is another one referenced all over Goodreads, this time around other paranormal romance books. I can't count the amount of times I've heard people say 'in the Midnight Breeds series...'

10. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
This is one I keep seeing on blogs, and I desperately want to read. It's the first book that came to mind when I was trying to think of books everyone but me has read.

  1. I too have not read Karen Marie Moning's Darkfever series. I've read her entire Highlander series and loved it, but just have been able to really get into the Darkfever series. I also have Outlander on my listthis week as well.

    Top 10 Tuesday

  3. Darkfever is one of my all time favorites, but it is definitely a little dark. I got hooked on the Morganville Vampires years back, but now I'm just reading to see it end. They're good, but not great:)

  4. I've only read Hush Hush on your list :)) Anna Dressed in Blood is one that I keep seeing on everyone's blogs too. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. I haven't read any of these either. I want to read Anna Dressed in Blood so badly! I need to get to it sooner rather than later!

  6. I haven't read any of these either. I've thought about trying the Outlander series, but the length is intimidating to me!

  9. Yea, I'm way excited about Anna Dressed in Blood. Can't wait to get a copy.

I really enjoyed Harkness' book, but can't seem to find anything about the next in the series. I've got my ear to the ground, though.

I've seen Outlander on several lists -- I guess that means that pretty much everyone actually has read it! :)

  10. @Couchpotatocritic - the next book in the series is called Shadow of Night and is due out summer 2012, according to the author's website :)
